Publication rules

Trueish is a place for anonymous stories, confessions, and thoughtful discussion. Stories may be true or fictional. Reader votes are opinions, not fact checks.

Protect people's privacy

Do not include names, contact details, addresses, or other details that could identify someone without their permission.

Share content you have the right to share

Only submit text and images you created or have permission to use. Do not upload private or intimate images of other people.

Keep sexual content within our boundaries

All people involved in sexual subject matter must be adults. Sexual content involving minors, exploitation, and non-consensual sexual material is prohibited. Explicit sexual content is not published in this version of Trueish.

Mark sensitive stories

Use the sensitive-content option for stories involving sexual themes, violence, abuse, or other potentially distressing experiences. Moderators may adjust the classification.

Treat others with respect

No threats, targeted harassment, hateful attacks, scams, spam, or advertising disguised as a story. Disagreement is welcome; abuse is not.

Understand moderation

Stories and images are reviewed before publication. Comments may be reviewed or removed. Content that breaks these rules may be rejected or hidden. Use Report to flag a concern.

Stay anonymous thoughtfully

You do not need to publish your real identity. Avoid identifying details in your story and images. Public anonymity does not mean that no technical data is processed by the service.
